Standard / Kids Eye Exam

Typically includes the following components:

  1. Visual Acuity Test: This test measures how well you can see at various distances. The doctor will ask you to read letters on a chart and will record your results.
  2. Refraction Test: This test helps the Optometrist determine the best prescription for your glasses or contact lenses. It will be done both objectively and subjectively.
  3. Slit Lamp Exam: This exam uses a special microscope to examine the structures of your eye, including the cornea, iris, and lens.
  4. Tonometry Test: This test measures the pressure inside your eye.
  5. Visual Field Test: This test measures your peripheral vision.
  6. Ophthalmoscopy: This exam uses a special light to examine the back of your eye, including the retina and optic nerve.
  7. Retinal Photography: This test takes pictures of the back of your eye to help detect any abnormalities.

Occupational Eye Exam

An occupational eye exam is a specialized type of eye exam that is designed to assess the vision needs of a person who works in a specific field. This type of exam may include additional tests that are tailored to the individual’s job, such as color vision tests, depth perception tests, and tests to measure the ability to focus on objects at different distances. The doctor may also recommend specific types of eyewear or protective gear that are designed for the individual’s job.

Diabetic/Glaucoma Screening

Glaucoma Screening is a service offered by eye care professionals to detect the presence of glaucoma, a condition that can lead to vision loss. The screening typically involves measuring the pressure inside the eye, examining the optic nerve for signs of damage, and performing visual field tests to check for blind spots. If any of these tests indicate the presence of glaucoma, further testing, and treatment may be recommended. Glaucoma screening is important for early detection and treatment, as it can help prevent vision loss from the condition.

Myopia Management Program

Ortho-k prescription and Atropine-optical management.

Ortho-k is a special type of rigid contact lens that is worn overnight, while sleeping, to gently reshape the cornea (the clear dome at the front of the eye) so that daytime wear of glasses or contact lenses is not needed. MATASIGHT has experience in prescribing Ortho-k contact lenses for our patients.Ortho-k lenses are a painless alternative to laser eye surgery. They are also a good option for people who do not want to wear eyeglasses or contact lenses every day or for those who can’t rely on those optical aids for a specific job.

Combining atropine 0.01% with either orthokeratology or special optical lenses/soft contact lenses in myopia management appears to increase myopia control efficacy with minimal side effects on pupil size or acuity.

Orthokeratology (ortho-k) has been shown to slow myopic progression in children by 36-56% when used for partial or full correction of myopia, as compared to their spectacle or contact-lens-wearing peers

MATASIGHT Optometry holds a co-management program with an ophthalmologist in order to give the best Ortho-k contact lens experience to our client.
